NEW FLORIDA & FEDERAL MINIMUM WAGE POSTERS REQUIRED
January 1, 2008 -
Florida's minimum wage will increase to $6.79 per hour and $3.77 for tipped employees
Starting January 1st, all Florida businesses have to display a new Florida minimum wage poster in a conspicuous and accessible place where employees can see it.
This new poster contains specific language outlining the duty of employers to pay the minimum wage, employee rights, and the penalties for not complying with Florida’s minimum wage law.
FUBA Members: Simply display this new poster next to your all-in-one poster FUBA gave you when you first joined, and you will be in full compliance with the new poster requirement. Also, do not be fooled by poster companies soliciting posters for a high price. As part of our member services, FUBA makes sure you are aware of all posting requirements so you do not have to pay outrageous prices for employment posters.

Federal minimum wage increased to $6.55 per hour
Employers should be advised that the federal minimum wage has been increased to $6.55 an hour as of July 24, 2008. Florida employers are required to post the new federal minimum wage poster at their workplaces.
FUBA Members: Click here to download the new federal minimum wage poster. Simply paste it on top of the old federal minimum wage poster that is part of your All-In-One employment poster we provided you when you first joined FUBA. By doing this, you will be in full compliance with the new posting requirement.
Please remember that Florida has its own minimum wage and that Florida businesses must pay their employees either the Florida minimum wage or the federal minimum wage, whichever is higher. At this time, the Florida minimum wage is higher, at $6.79, so Florida employers should still continue to pay the higher Florida rate to their employees.
